Is there an herb that helps speed up your metabolism?

Yes, it's called Ma Huang (natural Ephedra), but it's no longer easily available in the U.S., and it may be hazardous (even deadly) to your health, if not used properly.

No there isn't such a thing. I know I am the first answer and that many ridiculous answers will follow claiming all sorts of weird herbs, but believe none of these. The only beverage that was shown to have an effect on metabolic activity (but only during exercise) is coffee. Coffee was shown to enhance fat breakdown during sustained exercise. The evidence however is mixed (some positive and some negative results).
